Waimak’s farmers took time out from the farm to engage with Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy at a woolshed meeting held in Oxford recently.
The Waimak Woolshed meeting, held on Thursday 13 July, was organised by Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey.
“It’s always a busy time for farmers,” Doocey said, “so I arranged the meeting in the woolshed of a local farmer in Oxford to make the meeting accessible for our farmers.”
Doocey said the Minister was updated by our rural communities on plans around water and nutrient management in the Waimak.
“Our rural communities are the backbone of our local economy and, like in New Zealand, when our farmers are doing well, Waimakariri does well,” Doocey said.
