Artists from Waimakariri are featuring in an exhibition of creative works, entitled “New Brighton Regeneration”, being shown in the Bowen House Gallery in Parliament.

Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey took time from his Parliamentary schedule to view the works from his electorate recently.

“I enjoy keeping connected to the electorate when I’m in Parliament and this was probably one of the most unexpected ways,” the MP said. “It was great to be able to pop down from my office in Bowen House to take a look at the great work that has come from Waimakariri and to feel proud in sharing these with my fellow Parliamentarians.”

Artists Jayne Cummins and Liz Ambler are two artists from Waimakariri who are featured in the exhibition, which features works by artists of the Brighton Gallery.
