Ohoka residents get faster and better broadband
Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey has welcomed news that Ohoka residents will benefit from faster and better quality broadband following work on a new fibre-fed broadband cabinet.
“Earlier in the year I was contacted by Ohoka residents who were frustrated at the slow speeds of their Internet connection. For people running businesses at home, the issue was pretty serious when it came to connecting with customers and running applications from cloud-based services.”
The news that Chorus completed work last Friday on the new fibre-fed broadband cabinet would come as a “huge relief” to Ohoka residents, Doocey said.
“I have been advised that whereas some residents were experiencing speeds of between 1 and 5Mbps, with these speeds slowing considerably even further for some residents during peak times, they should now be able to enjoy speeds of between 10 and 20Mbps, which are expected to remain consistent during peak times.”
