Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey welcomes the opening of Enterprise North Canterbury’s new building in Kaiapoi as providing a valuable hub to build and support North Canterbury businesses.
The regional development hub’s new flagship building in Kaiapoi was opened by the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon John Key, on Thursday 17 March.
“This is a milestone development for Kaiapoi. It’s another great anchor project following the opening of the Ruataniwha Kaiapoi Civic Centre last year and it will attract new businesses to our region as well as supporting existing businesses,” Doocey said.
“We know that when our economy does well, our people do well.”
Doocey, who meets with ENC CEO Heather Warwick regularly around supporting local business, said the new building created a space for training and business advice, provided a drop-in work space for businesses to tap into ultrafast WiFi, and pulled together tourism services with the co-location of Kaiapoi i-SITE and Visit Waimakariri under one roof.
“Waimakariri electorate is the third-fastest growing in New Zealand and Waimakariri District is now the third-largest by population in the South Island. We know Waimakariri is a great place to live but it is also a great place to do business and today encapsulates that as we bring our region forward,” Doocey said
