Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey has signed up for another icy plunge this year in support of The Big Splash to raise funds for Rangiora Stroke Club.
Doocey, who did the jump last year, said he enjoyed meeting with the Stroke Club after last year’s jump and had great respect for the work they undertook.
“This is a good opportunity to assist the dedicated team who put in so much work to support those who have survived a stroke and their families. It’s a great cause – especially if you consider that at any point in time there will be over 32,000 New Zealanders who are living with disabilities arising from stroke. I’m glad to be able to do any small thing to help,” Doocey said.
The Big Splash will take place on Saturday 30 July at 11am on the Waimakariri District Council lawn on High Street, Rangiora. The theme this year is “Under the Sea”.
