An early morning breakfast club in Northwood enjoyed a lively debate with Finance Minister Steven Joyce ahead of Budget 17.

Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey said bringing relevant ministers into the electorate was part of his commitment to ensure residents had opportunities to feed their views to Parliament. “It was great to have the Minister in the electorate ahead of Budget 17 to chat to residents and get feedback on what some of the issues are for our area,” Doocey said.

Issues raised during a lively question and answer session with the Northwood Breakfast Club included Superannuation, the Budget and New Zealand’s employment rate, now ranking second highest among OECD countries, with 66.7 percent of people over the age of 15 in employment.
